Whitefield Arms, wonderful quintessential British pub in Bangalore

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

follow The Whitefield Arms is a modern take on the quintessential British pub and celebrates the history of Whitefield through its unique menu and Bengaluru’s love of beer. A living history pub with colonial-themed wooden furniture and outdoor seating, it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends and colleagues.

The conference themed as “Changing Landscape of Security & Surveillance”, took place at Hotel Shangri-La Eros on 7th July 2011 at New Delhi. It is located in VR Bengaluru of Whitefield which in itself is a very beautiful boutique mall. I like the way Whitefield Arms has a separate sit out area and entrance too apart from the mall entrance. On a good day, you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Bangalore weather and have a meal there.

In food, the highlight was Mulligatanwy soup which is basically an anglicised version of the famed Madras Pepper Broth. It has to be eaten with some white rice and a sprinkling of lemon. I really loved this refreshing soup.

In main course, I tried the Grilled Spice Crusted Chicken which was a breast of Chicken served with mint and onion sauce, spinach and truffle mushroom rice. Really yummy and filling it was!

In dessert, we tried out the legendary Sticky Toffee Pudding. This was the rich cake soaked with a thick sticky sauce topped with vanilla ice cream. Really sinful dessert which we loved!

The Whitefield Arms has excellent food and cocktails and the only thing missing right now is the brewery. I really hope the brewery comes up real soon with some really excellent beers!
