Pune – the Queen of Deccan – is this gorgeous hilly city meant to be on everyone’s travel bucket list! The beautiful Western Ghats, the clear skies, wide roads and gorgeously chill weather makes Pune a great weekend getaway or any getaway for that matter. The moment you land at Pune, you will feel the air literally kicking you up!

The best time to visit Pune is around the monsoons – you must witness the sensational landscape not just of this pretty city, but also towns around it like Khandala, Lonavla, etc. Pune turns into a vision of mist and greenery during this time, making it a perfect cure for all the troubles in your life. But if you are planning to visit Pune during the monsoons, avoid weekends since they will highly crowded and try to search for best budget friendly hotels in Pune before you reach there – like the Ginger Hotels, Citrus Hotel, etc. which not only offer great services but are also budget friendly.

Pune has a lot of touristy locations, but if you are a foodie like me, the city is a food-lover’s paradise. Here are four places you must visit while you are at Pune.

Garden Vada Pao Centre

Popular ever since its origin in 1972, this is where you will find a divine version of the evergreen vada pao. With their unique family recipe and absolutely pocket-friendly prices, this place is a delight that you are sure to fall in love with.

German Bakery

Trust me when I say that the aroma enveloping this place is enough to swipe you off your feet! Whether it’s a late brunch on a Sunday or a breakfast along your road trip, the ambience and pastries here are to die for!

Kayani Bakery

Oh the Shrewsbury biscuits and the mava cakes – I wonder why they don’t make it like them anywhere else! Another old spot in the town, everything on this bakery’s menu is absolutely delectable – ok, they are divine!

Bedekar

If you love Maharashtrian food, you have to visit this place. They are famous for the Puneri misal – it’s definitely the best misal pav I’ve ever come across. One look at the shop and you will know why the proverb – big things come in small packages – holds true!

Eat, drink, be merry and lose yourself to an incredible weather – Pune is one vacation that should be done right now. As the monsoons slowly start engulfing the country, pack your bags and get ready to hit the road and witness a dreamy cosmopolitan city!

Had a great time in Pune during last monsoon with Macrotraveller – one of the best travel blogs in India when we visited German Bakery and Bedekar. Hope you visit Pune soon too!
