Black Dog is a Scotch which was founded in 1883 by Sir Walter Millard. The name “Black Dog†was given to the Scotch by Sir Walter Millard, after his favourite fishing fly “Black Dogâ€.
Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve (TGR), as the name itself suggests, is the only blended Scotch that is produced involving a triple maturation process. The triple maturation process involves Grain whiskies and Malt whiskies separately matured in American Bourbon Casks and then blended together and matured again in Oloroso Sherry Butts for an extra longer period of time to give the blend a distinctive flavour and a delicate finish!
As per the consumer research conducted on the blend of TGR, it has been appreciated and accepted as a parallel to any 12 year old blended scotch. The blend has a delicate finish and is available in all pack sizes – 1 liter, 750ml, 375ml, 180ml and 60ml.
Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve will be available across India in the price range of Rs.1600 and Rs.2500 approximately (depending on State pricing policies). Priced at Rs.50 higher than Black Dog Gold Reserve in Karnataka @ Rs.2300 for 750ml.
According to Ashok Capoor, President and Managing Director of United Spirits Limited, “We are extremely proud to introduce one of our most awaited and differentiated blends- the Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve. The success of our Black Dog Gold Reserve is well documented. Launch of the Triple Gold Reserve in the premium Scotch segment as an outcome of triple maturation augurs well for the discerning and growing scotch consumers in India. Such careful and skillful blending is a sublime testament to the art of luxurious indulgence.â€
The fine lines on the Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve pack commemorate the journey of Sir Walter Millard in his quest for the perfect blended Scotch whisky. Aimed to astound luxury seeking consumers with the brand’s symbolic fishing fly stylized in metallic shades of black and gold, the packaging has been inspired from the premium gold packaging of Black Dog Gold Reserve.
