2015 can really be considered as the best year for gadget lovers in India as many brands are entering the market and offering really cool devices for very competitive prices. But what has stood out in the crowd is Phicomm Passion 660 launched by Phicomm India which has Research & Development bases in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Munich and San Francisco with India as their next target.

One of the first things that you notice about Phicomm Passion 660 is that it is super slim at just 7.3mm with a premium finish. It has also a larger screen at around 5″ which is 10% larger than iPhone 6. It also has a 6% higher Screen-to-body ratio too! Who wouldn’t want a bigger display for a much lesser price!

For all those folks who might think that dropping the phone may injure it, worry not! It has got 3rd generation Corning glass for LCD and the touch panel is made of LG glass. The painting on the phone is also anti scratch and quite durable. So you need not worry about any kind of sudden injury which might happen to the phone as it will be almost indestructible!

Phicomm Passion 660 has an all metal frame with a seamless back cover by unibody process. You cannot remove the battery which is a good thing as you wouldn’t want to tamper with the hardware even by mistake. The SIM slots are provided on the right of the phone and you have Nano SIM support. Out of the 2 SIM slots, one is a hybrid SIM slot where you can also put a Micro SD card. That ensures that you can store upto 32 GB of data apart from the 16GB inbuilt storage capacity.

Another interesting feature of the phone is Pedometer app which is quite useful for fitness freaks. You can enable it from the ‘Shortcuts’ menu which slides down from the top of the phone. It has an integrated stepcounter which tells you the amount of kilometers you have walked since the start and in how many steps you have covered the same.

You can also get information like the amount of calories that you have burnt in a specific amount of time and you get the information positioned on a map so that you can get an idea of your workout progress over a period of time. Best part about this is that this app doesn’t require GPS or network and actually turns on the power saver mode thus saving a lot of phone battery which is quite critical now a days.

If we talk about camera, there are obviously 2 cameras – one main camera which is of 13 megapixels and having many shot modes like Zero Shutter, Burst Mode, Sunset Mode and Anti-Shake and one front camera which can be used a selfie camera which is of 5 megapixels. Selfie camera comes with a super wide angle of 84 degrees compared to the traditional 75 degrees, so you can get more people in one shot!

If you love innovation like me, you will also like the ‘Wave Gesture’ feature in the Phicomm Passion 660. You can enable this from “Settings” in “Shortcuts” menu. You can use gesture to control the phone by unlocking the phone, putting it on standby, controlling the status bar, controlling music and controlling pictures. The front camera is used as a sensor for this and you need to be a distance of 3cm to 15cm for waves to work their magic!

Barometer app on Phicomm Passion 660 allows you to record your 3D position while taking a picture. You could use geotag to gauge the height of your position and include that information in your picture. This specially useful in case of you traveling to hilly regions, while trekking or while flying. It makes for a fun and useful tool.

Worried about transferring large files using bluetooth or via data cable? Wireless Disk comes to your rescue. You can set up an ftp URL for your phone and then can access it from any other laptop or phone. That gives you the flexibility to immediately download the pictures or videos you have the Passion 660 phone.

Phicomm Passion 660 is based on a Qualcomm Reference Design by Qualcomm Technologies Inc. (QTI) and has a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution (FHD). It is powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 615 processor with 4G LTE. The UI is inbuilt by Phicomm called Expect 5.0 UI. It does come with Android Kitkat for now, but we have been promised an upgrade to Android Lollipop very soon!

For all these amazing features, you would definitely think that the phone would set you back by around Rs.20,000 to Rs.25,000. But you would be pleasantly surprised that Phicomm Passion 660 is available on Amazon only for Rs.10,999! Steal the amazing deal before they run out of stocks!
