About Zafrani Biryani – A Majestic Biryani!
“Zafrani” – Just saying the word produces a rapture, its melody begins to conjure images and long lost memories. The Zafran (Saffron) makes it and names it, and ensures that it tastes as delicious as its name sounds!
Zafrani comes from Zafran, which most of you know as Kesar or Saffron, the dearest of the ingredients, which can only be found in some kitchens, not all. A secret and exotic ingredient that travelled a long, long distance, across national borders, to make its way through the Nizam’s court a few centuries ago to finally reside in the Nizami kitchen.
A secret ingredient that not only transformed the defining dish of the Nizami cuisine but also transformed anyone who at the time had the privilege to relish the most majestic of Biryanis, the Zafrani Biryani. All biryani lovers will now be able to enjoy the exotic Zafrani Biryani at an affordable cost during this unique festival. It was great to hear the story by Chef Vijay Anand Bakshi who has been our long term associate too! He explained the importance of cooking, meat procuring and other elements.
Chef Vijay Anand Bakshi stated that the Paradise ‘Zafrani Biryani Festival’ is an effort to present, revive and reintroduce to the die-hard Biryani lovers a rare and much-loved cuisine of the Nawabs and their guests. The Zafrani Biryani is available in two variants – Chicken and Mutton. Enjoy this majestic biryani while indulging in Paradise’s regular, delectable spread.
Sadly, the Biriyani is not available for vegetarians and comes only in mutton and chicken variants at a reasonable price of Rs 180 (Chicken) and Rs 195 (Mutton) for dine-in. However, different prices for takeaway and delivery are applicable.
