Hot fresh meals on AirAsia India’s domestic flights!

They fly to and fro more than 10 locations across India every day! It was wonderful to be invited recently to try out their new menu on domestic flights. The pricing of the items on the menu is very competitive as it starts at just Rs.200 for a hot meal where as other airlines are providing cold sandwiches at the same price! If you book your meal online in advance, you not only get your meal fastest (whichever row you are in) but also get a discount of Rs.50! You also get a meal of your choice anytime of the day! Highlight of the afternoon and of course a nod to the home state of AirAsia India – Karnataka; was Mysore Chicken Curry and Keerai Kottu served with Lemon Rice. I loved this combination.

For those who like Continental food, there is Mustard & Herb Chicken Thigh with Pepper Sauce and Sauteed Vegetables. The Chicken Thigh instead of Chicken breast ensures that you get more juicy meat which is cooked well!

Some other favorites in the menu include Masala Frittata with Chicken & Leek Croquette served with Herb Potato Wedges.

JRD Tata who was a pioneer in Indian Aviation and also the first Indian to have a pilot’s license, is an inspiration to all including AirAsia. They have not only named one of their aircrafts after him but also incorporated some of his favorite items into their menu. One of his favorites which made it to the menu is Grilled Basa with parsley lemon butter, mashed potato and sauteed greens.

JRD Tata’s other favorite item which made it to the AirAsia India menu is Conchiglie (pasta) in creamy pesto with zuchini & bell peppers. Definitely AirAsia is my next choice in Indian aviation as not just my flight experience will be incredible, but also my tummy will be happy too!
